The Panalfa Group has been successful in forging and nurturing strong partnerships with leading international companies to manufacture diversified high technology auto components and systems in India. The group’s philosophy is to build open and transparent relationships.
By foraying into joint ventures with international industry leaders, we have gained valuable expertise in setting up greenfield projects in India that have state-of-the-art facilities and implement global manufacturing processes and quality standards. Technology absorption has been a key focus area in all our ventures, and we have successfully driven product localisation through in-house manufacturing and an efficient supplier network.
Panalfa also has a realty division that is developing a commercial and retail project in Gurgaon.
As a strategic step, Panalfa exited its auto-component business recently and is now looking to leverage its experience to enter high growth areas in diversified sectors.
Panalfa had a cumulative capital deployment of INR 1200 million and a consolidated peak annual turnover of INR 3000 million with 400 employees from its auto-component business.

The Panalfa Group has been a major OE manufacturer of diversified hi-tech automotive components and systems in India. The Group has been manufacturing exhaust systems, various sheet metal assemblies, car air-conditioning systems, intake manifold assemblies, electronic control units, NGV injectors, starter motors, alternators etc. in association with leading global players.
The joint ventures set up by Panalfa were successful in consistently increasing its share of business and portfolio of components with customers. The group added many new customers on the strength of its product quality, development capabilities, timely deliveries and customer service.
Panalfa has always been conscious about quality standards and its responsibility towards the environment, so it obtained all necessary certifications like ISO 9001, TS 16949 (quality management systems in the automotive sector) and ISO14001 (environment). It has also received awards from customers in recognition of its performance in operative parameters of quality, cost and delivery.

A holding company incorporated in 1994 to set up joint venture companies in India in the auto component sector. It is now looking to leverage its experience to enter high growth areas in diversified sectors.
panalfa dongwon
A joint venture with a South Korean conglomerate.
In 1996, we formed our first joint venture with Daewoo Motors and Dongwon Metal, Korea, to manufacture exhaust systems and then developed many other products like impact beams, catalytic converters, tie-bar assemblies, brace struts and pedal assemblies. As an outcome of global business transitions within the Daewoo group, we had to wind up our operations.

Keihin Panalfa
A joint venture with a leading Japanese automotive system manufacturer.
In 1997, Keihin Panalfa was set up in collaboration with Keihin Corp., Japan, a $3billion company, which is the largest subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Japan, and has operations all over the world. We started with manufacturing complete air-conditioning systems for Honda cars in India and gradually expanded our product portfolio by adding products like intake manifold assemblies, electronic control units, and NGV injectors. After a long and successful partnership, we sold our shareholding to our Japanese partner as part of our strategy to exit the auto-component business.

Panalfa Autoelektrik
A joint venture with a European manufacturer of automotive electrical systems.
In 2007, to diversify into the non-passenger car segment, we formed this company in collaboration with Magneton of the Czech Republic. We set up a facility to manufacture reduction gear starter motors and alternators for agricultural machinery, stationary engines and construction equipment applications, both for domestic and export markets. We purchased our European partner’s share in this business in early 2012. With exports accounting for 50% of our total production, we set up an engineering centre in Europe to augment our developmental activities, and also a sales office there to support our customers in Europe and Russia. Our strong engineering and product development expertise also meant that we were able to cater to multiple customer applications. We did not just stop at manufacturing and established a strong distribution and after-market sales and service network of 600 distributors and dealers within a period of two years all over India. As a final measure of the group’s decision to exit the auto-component business, we exited this venture.
